Conway Olmsted sailed as a crew member in the 6-metre class aboard Frieda at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. Olmsted later became an executive with a heating and valve company in the Chicago area. He was also involved in dog shows, serving as a vice-president of the English Springer Spaniel Field Trial Club in Illinois. Olmsted and his family lived in Lake Forest, Illinois but also had a home in West Palm Beach, Florida.
