Sailor Hans Ravenborg placed eighth in the Dragon class, together with Günther Beencke and Peter Rebien on the yacht Dinah V at the 1960 Roma Olympics. The same year the crew also won the famous Kieler Woche and the Vasco da Gama Cup. After World War II Ravenborg was not released from a Russian POW camp until 1947. He then sailed for Norddeutscher Regatta Verein in Hamburg. Ravenborg was deputy chief referee at the 1972 Olympic sailing competitions in Kiel.
By profession, Ravenborg was the manager of the car dealer company Dello. He was also founder and co-founder of the ALD AutoLeasing Hamburg and the purchasing co-op Techno-Purchasing Norderstedt as well as honorary president of the Association of German Opel dealers. As an automotive entrepreneur of the first class, Ravenborg made a lasting impression on the industry for many years.
