Ed Trevelyan competed mostly in Soling, winning gold at the 1979 Soling Worlds, and placing second in 1980. He also won the Kiel Weeks in Soling in 1979 and 1980, was 1978 North American Soling champion, and 1979 US Champion. Trevelyan made the 1980 US Olympic team that did not compete. After his 1984 Olympic gold medal he worked for several years for North Sails, but later became a statistician with the US Census Bureau.
