Herman Adlerberg’s father, Alexander Count von Adlerberg (1849-1931), was a Tsarist Russian general of Swedish-Baltic descent, who had to emigrate to Croatia after fighting for the White Army. Herman graduated in 1914 from the Imperial Alexandrovsky Lyceum in St. Petersburg and became an official in the Credit Section of the Ministry of Finance. He died in exile at the age of 28.
Adlerberg was the owner of the Russian yacht “Bylina” competing in the 8-metres class at the Stockholm Olympics. They placed seventh and last in both races.
