Argentine sprinter Alberto Barucco won silver in the 100 metres at the 1926 South American Championships. At the 1927 championships Barucco won gold in the 4x100 metres relay along with Roberto Genta, Juan Bautista Pina, and Juan Gagliardi. Barucco ran in the 100 metres and the 200 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics, reaching the quarter-finals in the latter.
