German Otto Dietsch spent his life in Argentina where he competed in athletics. Dietsch won the 110 metres hurdles titles at the first edition of the national championships in 1920. He also had success in the same event at the South American Championships in Athletics, winning bronze in 1920 and 1922, and silver in 1924. Dietsch was a member of the Argentina YMCA when he competed in the 4 × 100 metres relay race at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
