Biography
Austrian table tennis player Erich Amplatz partnered Ding Yi at the 1992 Barcelona Summer Olympics in the men’s doubles. The pair lost both matches in the preliminary round in group A and were eliminated.
Amplatz participated in five World Championships between 1977-85 and was Austrian national champion in 1978, 1980-82, and added several doubles and mixed titles. Nationally, he played with Atus Judenburg, UTTC Römerquelle Langenlois, TTC Raiffeisen Langenlois, and Union Wolkersdorf.
