Biography

German-born Austrian Feodora Schenk finished third in the 1938 European Championships in high jump. At the European Championships she competed under the name Feodora zu Solms and, forced to represent Nazi Germany after the “Anschluss,” was German high jump champion in 1939, also placing second in 1938 and 1940-42.

She also won three Austrian high jump titles, in 1948 and 1951-52. At the 1952 Helsinki Olympics Schenk came in sixth. After the death of her first husband, the Austrian Dr. Schenk, by whom she gained Austrian citizenship, she married the 10th Prince Karl-Adolf von Auersberg in 1961.
