Austrian middle-distance runner Emil Hübscher participated at the 1936 Berlin Olympics over 800 metres reaching the semi-finals, but was eliminated in the heats of the 1,500. Hübscher was Austrian champion in 4×400 metres relay (1932-33, and 1935) and 4×1500 relay (1933-34).
Hübscher was banned from competitions until the end of 1938 by Austrian officials due to a dispute about useless information between officials and sportsmen during the Berlin Olympics. During World War II he was interned by the Nazis at Dachau concentration camp.
Personal Bests: 800 – 1:55.0 (1936); 1500 – 4:02.6 (1936).
