The older brother of fellow 1948 Olympian Ron, Doug Legg was, like his brother, an England international basketball player. Doug played in six of Great Britain’s eight games at the 1948 Olympics. He did, however, play in Britain’s only win, again Ireland. After his playing days, he turned to coaching local youngsters at the Birmingham Dolobran Club. Legg was also a former chairman of the Birmingham Basketball League.
