Biography

Born in Jamaica, Robert Esmie was a part of the best 4x100 m relay team in the mid-90s, along with Glenroy Gilbert, Bruny Surin and Donovan Bailey. Esmie’s 4x100 relay medals include golds at the 1994 Commonwealth Games, the 1995 and 1997 World Championships, and the 1996 Olympics, adding a bronze at the 1993 Worlds. Individually Esmie won a bronze medal in the 60 metres at the 1995 World Indoor Championships, and made the final of the 100 at the 1993 Worlds, where he finished seventh.

Personal Best: 100 – 10.10 (1997).
