David McGill was a Canadian distance runner who competed during the 1920s. In 1921 McGill won his first national title with victory in the 5,000 metres. Three years later he won his second title in the event, which earned him a place on the Olympic team for the 1924 Paris Games. At the Games, however, he finished seventh in his heat and was eliminated from the competition.
