Preben Larsen was a jumper who competed at the 1948 and 1952 Olympics in the triple jump, just missing a medal in 1948 when he finished fourth. Larsen also competed in the triple jump at the 1946 and 1950 European Championships, placing sixth in 1946 and seventh in 1950. He won 21 Danish titles, with two in the high jump, seven in the long jump, and 12 in the triple jump. Outside of sport, Larsen was a jazz musician who played the saxophone, and also was an orchestra leader.
