Biography

Danish track and field athlete Christian Markersen was an accomplished middle-distance runner who won six national titles during the 1930s. After winning silver in the 1,500 metres in both 1928 and 1929, Markersen won his first Danish title with gold in the event in 1931. He won two more national titles in the 1,500 metres (1933–34), along with three titles in the 8km cross-country race (1932, 1934–35). Markersen also ran in the 1,500 metres at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics, finishing sixth in his heat.

Personal Best: 1500 – 3:58.1 (1932).
