Charles Vestergaard was a Danish racewalker who represented Silkeborg Idrættsforening Fremad, later working on the board of the club and acting a temporary chairman of the organisation. At the 1902 Danish Athletics Championships, when Vestergaard was only 18-years-old, he finished in first place in the race over five Danish miles, where one Danish mile equalled approximately 7,500 metres. Six years later Vestergaard finished in sixth place in the 3,500 metres racewalk at the 1908 London Olympics. Two days later he also competed in the 10 miles racewalk but did not finish in his heat.
