Biography
Ecuador made its début at the Olympics at the 1924 Paris Games when they sent a delegation of three track and field athletes. Long-distance runner Belisario Villacís competed in the marathon but did not finish the course, which was ran on an extremely hot day in the nation’s capital. Villacís was also scheduled to run in the cross-country race but did not start.
