Spanish long-distance runner Emilio Ferrer represented FC Barcelona during the 1920s. In 1928 Ferrer won the Catalonia marathon, which was used as a test event for the upcoming Olympics. At the Amsterdam Games he was one of four Catalan track and field athletes to compete, along with Juan Serrahima, Joaquín Miquel, and José Culí. Ferrer ran in the marathon in Amsterdam, finishing in 52nd place.
