Hannu Posti competed for Finland at the 1952 Summer Olympics in athletics, and at the 1964 Winter Olympics in biathlon. In athletics he was fifth at the 1950 Europeans in the 5,000, and 14th in that event in 1954. He won nine Finnish titles, two at 5K, four at 10K, and three in cross-country, and competed for Finland in 18 duals from 1950-57. In the biathlon he won a silver at the 1963 World Championships. Posti later became a coach, leading Tapio Kantanen to a 1972 Olympic steeplechase bronze medal, and coached with the Finnish Federation for several decades.
Personal Bests: 1,500 – 3:54.8 (1950); 3,000 – 8:14.8 (1952); 5,000 – 14:11.8 (1957); 10,000 – 29:49.8 (1953).
