Bibiano “Bing” Ouano played basketball for the Philippines at the 1936 Berlin Olympics after winning a gold medal at the 1934 Far Eastern Games. He played for the Colegio de San Juan de Letran Knights, graduating in 1930. Later, he attended Ateneo University and became a member of their team. With the Ateneo Blue Eagles, he claimed three consecutive NCAA college championships from 1931-33, the last as team captain. Ouano later coached the Ateneo team to two NCAA Championships in 1954 and 1955 before he took over the Letran Knights. In 1960 he was with the NCAA all-star team in Japan on his first foreign coaching assignment when he sustained a fatal heart attack. His son, Bibiano Ouano, Jr., would settle in McPherson and Wichita, Kansas, where he practiced as a urologist.
