Jacques Perrier was capped 50 times with the French national team between 1946 and 1952. He played at the 1948 Olympics, winning a silver medal, at the 1946 and 1947 European Championships, placing fourth and fifth, respectively and at the 1950 World Championships, placing sixth with the French team. At the club level, Perrier played his whole career with Hirondelles des Coutures, a small club under Catholic church patronage and affiliated with Fédération sportive de France (FSF) that united various Catholic sports organizations in France. He also played for the French military champion in 1947.
After finishing his sporting career, Perrier worked as a basketball coach with the FSF system, serving as the head coach of Hirondelles des Coutures and Clermont UC. With the latter, Perrier was the French Union for Secular Physical Activity (Union française des œuvres laïques d’éducation physique - UFOLEP) champion in 1963.
