Leslie Housden finished 31st in the 1920 Olympic marathon, more than 40 minutes behind the winner. The younger brother of international hurdler, Fred, he qualified as a doctor at Guy’s Hospital and specialized in child welfare work. He was medical advisor to the Save the Children Fund and was awarded the OBE.
