Charles Wiard was a member of the Blackheath Harriers team that won the AAA 4×110y relay in 1932, 1937, and 1939. The only time he reached the final of an individual event at the AAA Championships was in the 220y in 1936. He won the 100y and the 220y at the 1936 Southern Championships and was again the winner of the 100y in 1937. He was awarded the MBE.
