Biography
Discus thrower Siegfried Pachale, father of volleyball players Maja and Hanka Pachale, finished fifth at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He placed fourth at the 1974 European Championships and was second at the 1973 European Cup. Pachale was the first former GDR thrower to better 65 metres in 1973, recording 66.18 m. The same year he also earned his only East German title. He was educated as a journalist.
Personal Best: DT – 67.54 (1976).
