Biography

Silvia Hollmann was a 400 and 400 hurdles runner. She was eliminated in the second round of the 400 at the 1976 Montréal Olympic Games, but won the silver medal at the 1978 European Championships in the 400 hurdles and placed fifth with the 4x400 relay. At the 1975 European Cup Hollmann placed third in the 400 hurdles and again fifth with the relay, and in 1981 she was sixth in the hurdles. In 1975 she was runner-up at the European Indoors in the 4x2 lap relay. Domestically she collected four West German titles in the 400 hurdles (1976, 1978-80) and three relay titles. Hollmann was educated as a school teacher but became Head of the District Administration of Hombruch in Dortmund.
