Sprinter Michaela Schabinger took part in the 1984 and 1988 Olympic Games, placing fifth with the 4x100 relay in 1984 as her best result. She reached the second round of the 200 metres in 1984 and she started in the heats of the 4x400 relay in 1988. At the 1983 European Cup Schabinger finished seventh both in the 100 and 200, and was sixth with the sprint relay. In West Germany she never managed to win a national title.
