Allround athlete Paul Weinstein, brother of Albert Weinstein, earned a bronze medal at the 1904 St. Louis Olympic Games in the high jump. He also finished seventh in the pole vault. Two years later, at the 1906 Athina Olympics, he participated in five jumping events and the javelin throw, all with limited success. In 1903, 1905 and 1906 he was German high jump champion, and in 1906 won the long jump title.
Paul Weinstein later was a sports administrator responsible for the redevelopment of sports activities at VfL Bochum after World War II. From 1926-48, the doctorate scientist was head of the Chemical Investigation Office of the city of Bochum.
