Biography

Argyris Karagiannis was a Greek track and field athlete who specialised in the pole vault. Karagiannis competed at the 1924 Paris Olympics, finishing in joint-15th place with a best clearance of 3.20 metres. He was also part of the Greek quartet in the 4 × 100 metres relay that reached the semi-finals. Four years later he competed in the pole vault at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not record a height in the qualifying round. Karagiannis won the pole vault title at the Balkan Athletics Championships in 1929 and 1930.
