Luis Flores competed in the 1972 Olympic decathlon, but after no heighting in the pole vault, withdrew and did not finish. Flores was better known as a politician in Guatemala. He served as Vice-President from 14 January 1996 to 14 January 2000 in the cabinet of president Álvaro Arzú
