Lajos Ludinszky studied law at Cambridge and Budapest. From the 1920, he held various positions including advisor for the Ministry of Justice, head of the central public transport department, and legal advisor of Hungarian state news agency MTI and of the state radio. In the 1940s he was a member of the Fascist, pro-German Arrow Cross party. He emigrated to Zürich in Switzerland in 1948.
After starting his athletic career as a sprinter and finalist of the Hungarian Olympic trials in 1908, he had his first remarkable result as a high jumper in 1909 while studying in Cambridge. In the 1912 championships, which also served as Olympic trials, he placed third with 1.81 m, an event won by Iván, Báró Wardener.
