Paramjit Singh worked for Western Railway in India for more than 30 years as a senior divisional commercial manager. Whilst employed there Singh played for the company’s basketball team and won multiple titles. He represented the national team at several international tournaments including the Asian Basketball Championships in 1975 and 1977. Singh was named as the captain of the team for the 1980 Moskva Olympics, playing in all seven of their matches. After his playing career he worked on the selection committee that chose the players for the Indian team.
