János Paizs played football until 1925 and then, from 1926 to 1938, competed as an athlete of BEAC, primarily in sprinting and long jump. Between 1930 and 1938 he won seven national championship title in 4x100m relay. In 1927, he won the 200 metres and 4x100 meres and Swedish relay at the World College Championship. Next year he participated at the Amsterdam Olympics in 100 metres dash and 4x100 metres relay. Unfortunately, his team was disqualified in the heats and he failed to qualify from the first round in the individual event. He was named to the relay squad for the Berlin Olympics, although he did not actually take part in competition. After completing his sports career, he worked as a café and hotel decorator.
