Biography
In the 1930s Ronald Vernieux represented India in track and field athletics where he specialised as a sprinter. Vernieux was selected to run in both the 100 and 200 metres at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics but did not advance from the heats in either race. He was also part of India’s quartet for the 4 x 100 metres relay at the Games. Two years later he ran in the 4 x 110 yards relay at the British Empire Games in London, along with compatriots Gyan Bhalla, Jehangir Khan, and Niranjan Singh. Vernieux also ran in the 100 yards and 220 yards at the British Empire Games but was eliminated in the heats.
