Angelo Tommasi was an Italian high jumper. He was from a well-known sporting family in Italy as his father Salvatore was a multi-sport athlete in the 19th century, and his brother Virgilio was a famous long jumper. Angelo won five Italian titles, first from 1931-33, then finishing second in 1934, and winning again in 1935-36.
Tommasi set his first Italian record in his hometown of Verona on 27 September 1931 with 1.863. He improved it five times with a best mark of 1.915, which he did twice, in Verona in 1933 and in August 1936 at Bologna. Internationally the highlight of his career was participation at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics. Tomassi was capped 16 times for Italy between 1926-36.
