Misao Ono’s best season came in 1932 jumping his personal best of 1.94 in Tokyo in May. He then won the high jump at the 1932 Japanese Athletics Championships with 1.89 and was selected for the Los Angeles Olympics. There, he placed seventh behind his compatriot Kazuo Kimura, Japan’s dominant high jumper of the era.
