Žarko Varajić played basketball for Yugoslavia at the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He also helped the Yugoslav National Team win gold at the 1977 EuroBasket Tournament. Varajić played most of his career with Bosna Sarajevo. He is best remembered for the final of the 1979 European Club Championship, when he scored 45 points to lead Bosna past Varese in Grenoble, France. Late in his career, Varajić played one season with Al-Ain in the United Arab Emirates.
