A police officer, Kuda Ditta was allowed special training in athletics by his commander. He became the first Olympian from Sarawak (the Malaysian part of Borneo), but failed to survive the heats of the hurdles events. He medalled twice in the South East Asian Games, in 1971 and 1973. He died of stomach cancer aged 66.
