In the first half of the 1930s Mexico’s Francisco Robledo enjoyed some success in the hammer throw at international competitions. Robledo won gold in the event at the Central American and Caribbean Games in 1930 and 1935, along with silver in the 4 x 100 metres relay (1930), and bronze in the discus throw (1935). He competed in the hammer throw at the 1932 Los Angeles Olympics where he finished 11th with a best effort of 41.61 metres. Robledo was also scheduled to participate in the discus throw at the Los Angeles Games but did not start.
