Biography

While track sprinter Lies Aengenendt never became a Dutch champion, she did set two national records during her career. In August 1928 Aengenendt ran 12.9 seconds for the 100 metres, setting a Dutch record that stood until the following year. In 1929 she was part of the quartet that set the first ever national record in the 4 x 100 metres relay at a meet in Belgium. At the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics she ran in the 100 metres and finished fifth with the relay team in the 4 x 100 metres.
