Biography

Dolf Benz was a Dutch track and field athlete who specialised as a sprinter. Benz was selected to run in the 100 metres at the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics but did not advance from the heats. He was often part of the Dutch relay team and set several national records in the 4 x 100 metres during his career. At the 1934 European Championships in Tornio he was named as an alternate in the 4 x 100 metres, which saw his compatriots winning the bronze medal. Benz was a journalist by profession and wrote for AV Haarlem.
