Biography

Wilhelmus Braams was a Dutch long-distance runner who represented Pro Patria in Rotterdam. In May 1908 Braams won the five-mile race in Rotterdam and the Haarlem marathon, with both events serving as the selection process for the 1908 London Olympics. He ran in both events at the Games but did not finish in either of them. In the marathon Braams abandoned the race after only completing just over four miles of the course.
