During the 1950s and 1960s Polish track and field athlete Bogusław Gierajewski competed in the hurdles and sprint events. Throughout his career Gierajewski set seven national records in the hurdles and relay, and was a four-time Polish champion, winning the 200 metres hurdles (1963), 400 metres hurdles (1963, 1964), and 4 x 400 metres relay (1964). He made his international début for Poland in 1959 and was selected to compete at the Olympics one year later. At the Roma Games he was part of the quartet that ran in the 4 × 400 metres relay where the team reached the semi-finals. Four years later Gierajewski ran in the 400 metres hurdles at the Tokyo Olympics and was named as an alternate in the relay, but did not run. After his retirement he became a noted coach, including spending many years working in Denmark, holding joint Danish-Polish citizenship.
Personal Bests: 400 – 47.2 (1964); 400H – 51.1 (1964).
