Boxer Christian Sittler was Austrian champion in light-welterweight from 1973-76 and was considered one of the best Austrian boxers after World War II. Consequently, he was selected for the 1976 Montréal Olympics. He won his first two bouts but then lost to Argentine Luis Portillo by KO in round three. The following year Sittler turned professional but fought only seven bouts.
Sittler married a show woman and raised three sons. He and his family ran, among other things, the popular Stockautobahn, the Sombrero, and probably the most popular Viennese cult carousel, Tagada at the Prater in Wien (Vienna).
