Werner Duttweiler competed in the pole vault at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. He entered the decathlon at the 1964 and 1968 Olympics but did not finish either event. Duttweiler later became coach of the Swiss national bobsleigh team, leading them at the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics, where they won the four-man event and brought home a bronze medal in the two-man.
