Biography

Lennart Andersson was a Swedish track and field athlete who specialised in the triple jump. At the 1935 Swedish athletics championships he won silver in the event, followed by a bronze the following year. He then won three consecutive titles from 1937 to 1939, with a silver in 1940, and a final gold in 1945. At the 1936 Berlin Olympics he finished 19th with a best effort of 14.26 metres. Two years later he finished sixth at the 1938 European Championships. Andersson also had success in the standing high jump, winning silver (1935) and gold (1937) in the event at the Swedish championships.
