Josef Holsner’s main event was the 3,000 metre steeplechase, which was not contested at the Swedish Championships in the 1920s. As far back as 1914 Holsner had won the traditional Kungsbacka Race, a 27 km run with the finish in Göteborg. At the end of 1930 he became coach of IFK Göteborg’s soccer team and received the club’s Gold Medal of Honor in 1944.
