Biography

As a specialist in the javelin throw Swedish athlete Hugo Lilliér won multiple medals at the national championships and represented his country at two Olympic Games. Lilliér won his first medal at the Swedish championships in 1917 in the throw using the combined distance with both hands. He was the national champion in the discipline in 1919, in addition to winning six silver medals (1918, 1921–25). In the standard throw using just one hand Lilliér won two silver (1924, 1927) and two bronze medals (1925–26). At the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics he finished in tenth place before finishing 13th four years later at the 1924 Paris Olympics.
