Carl Nilsson was a Swedish distance runner who represented Djurgårdens IF. In 1911 Nilsson won gold at the Swedish championships in the 8km cross-country team event. The following year he ran in the marathon at the 1912 Stockholm Olympics where he finished in 32nd place. Nilsson had further success as a marathon runner when he won bronze at the Swedish championships in 1914 and 1915. However just 17 days after his third-place finish at the 1915 championships tragedy struck as Nilsson died at the young age of 27.
