Biography

Jiří Lanský was a high jumper who competed at the 1960 Roma Olympics. Lanský won silver medals in the high jump at the 1954 and 1958 European Championships. He was a six-time Czechoslovakian Champion and, during his career, set seven Czechoslovak national records. He was the first Czech jumper to better 2.00 metres and 2.10 metres. Lanský was world ranked in the top 10 three times, with a highest ranking of #3 in 1958.
