At the age of 17, Worasit Vechaphut was on the Thai 4×100 m team in the World Championship 1993. In 1994 he impressed by winning gold on both 100 m and 200 m at the Asian Junior Championships. As a senior his development came to a stop. He has two silver medals as member of the Thai 4×100 m team at the Asian Championship in 1995 and the Asian Games 1998, but was never able to reach an individual final in those championships.
