Lacy Barnes-Mileham was a weight thrower, mostly known as a discus thrower, who competed in that event at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. Barnes-Mileham competed at Cal State Fresno, graduating in 1988. She was second three times at the NCAA Meet, in 1985, and 1987-88. She eventually won three USA titles, in 1988, 1991, and 1997, and had four second-place finishes at the nationals. Barnes-Mileham won a bronze medal at the 1991 Pan American Games and also competed that year at the World Championships.
Lacy Barnes married Matt Mileham, twice an Olympian in the hammer throw for Great Britain. Their daughter, Cecilia Barnes, also threw the discus for Cal State Bakersfield, and competed at the 2007 World Championships, winning 2006 D-2 NCAA titles in both the discus and hammer. Barnes-Mileham later earned graduate degrees in psychology and worked as a psychologist.
